We installed this in our home that has a wood decor with wood beams, wood ceiling, wood doors etc. It hangs over the dining area and shines the light over the dining table. It looks good and complements the overall decor. We have received good feedback and comments on it.We would recommend using it in an area which already has a good amount of other light and not for an area where you need more light. It is also more suitable where you need focused light in a small area and not to diffuse light over a bigger area. It is rated at 40W and limited to a traditional 40W bulb or you could go with LED bulbs with higher lumen output and still stay under the 40W. We wanted more light, so we are using a LED 100W equivalent floodlight that uses around 15W.The installation will be relatively simple for most setups like a level drywall ceiling. There are ZERO instructions. So, you should get a qualified electrician or handyman unless you are are a decent DIYer. If you are replacing an existing pendant or hanging light, keep the old brackets, plates or connectors just in case. If you have a sloping ceiling or a tight area, the provided bracket and screws may not be sufficient unless you tear up some stuff. You may end up mixing and matching your old and new hardware in this kind of a situation.
