The lamp looks nice and seems sturdy, but unfortunately it is 100% useless as the package did not include all of the parts. As per the the instruction manual there should be three socket rings to attach the lamp shades and hold the lightbulbs in place. The lamp cannot be used without them. So here I am, down almost $70, with a bunch of useless metal junk and no lamp.Edit: Customer service was excellent, and although it took a while to get things corrected, I now have all of the parts and the lamp is functional. Good lamp for the price, quite sturdy and is the perfect brightness for what I was looking for.I was going to buy a cheaper lamp but read the reviews and everyone was saying to spend a little more and get a better lamp. It was well worth it. This one is solid with a heavy base. The knobs feel good when you turn them, not cheap. I like the flat black "stealthy" look. If you turn the shades so you can't see the white inside, it's nearly invisible when off. I like the metal shades too. That's what I was after because my last one was a really cheap wobbly one and had plastic shades that eventually cracked from the heat. The bulbs were a nice addition too and look really beefy, like they may last a long time. Also came with a glove I assume was for installing the bulbs so you don't get any oil from your hands onto the bulbs.The lamp is great. It was easy to assemble and looks good. I just wish I could adjust the overall height since it is a little taller than optimal. I would still recommend.I used for extra lighting and it has done well. It's attractive just like in the pictures. sturdy. As for the assembly,screwing the stems together was a little tricky and my biggest concern was cross treading, however, it all worked out.Like the shades so yo can move them. Use it for putting jigsaw puzzles together.I was hoping the lamp was a bit taller, I failed to read the detail description, but It worked out fine for what I needed. My only complaint is the light bulbs included were not bright enough to light up a small room. I did replace the light bulbs with 60 watts and it's perfect for my small office area.The problems started with the packaging: very friable styrofoam. Then, putting it together required a lot of screwing together of pieces which were stiff, unwieldy, and unlubricated. Once I pushed through my irritation and had everything properly put together, I turned it on, and, yes, there was enough light and the bulbs and metal shades do not seem to heat up unnecessarily. Overall, the quality is poor and appearance is cheap. I'll keep looking for a good pole lamp for my living room and hide this in the spare room when I have a replacement for it. Didn't even consider sending it back because I did not want to repack it -- a mess!The lamp was easy to screw together, once I got the threads lined up properly. The base is nice and heavy and the lamp looks nice. The only annoying thing was the brittle styrofoam packing that shattered as I tried to move it around, but the lamp was well packed.
