I bought this item as a gift to brighten a dimly lit part of my mom's living room so she could see her sheet music better while playing the piano and wow does it work!The neck of this lamp is very adjustable and easily reaches down then can be twisted to shine only on the paper and not back into your eyes. It has a simple touch button switch on the base that has three intensity settings before turning off again.The only regret I have for buying this lamp is that I did not choose the version with two adjustable arms. I might end up getting that one too because we like this single arm one so much.The pricing is fair and quite reasonable for the quality of this lamp. I like the weight of the base and the stability that it has even when the arm is extended well past the center of gravity.The cord is a little shorter than it could be and necessitated adding a short extension cord to reach the outlet that is directly behind the piano. I am not going to complain because the benefits far outweigh the minor annoyance.This light is super bright and well made. It does not produce enough heat to cause a burn even with direct skin contact to the lit LED. Any old style light bulb that produced light as intense as this one would be searing hot after just a short time, so I am loving this lamp for multiple reasons!It doesn't take up much space and adjusts easily with a wide variety of angles. The slim diameter of the arm makes this all about the illumination and not at all about the look of the item.
