Bought for 2 lamps in master bedroom that had been broken for quite some time due to the original sockets being very cheap construction. Extremely easy to access screws by popping base off using "press here" pressure points on sides of sockets. Well constructed with 3 distinct postions for 3 way bulbs which is something I didn't have originally. Literallyreplaced each socket within 15 minutes.These are designed to be used with screw on shades as they are threaded at top outside of socket. If shades use lamp harp be sure the harp mount bracket is installed before securing socket to center conduit wiring rod.
