This was a very good purchase for us. The colors were as depicted and the quality is nice. It is a simple lamp that does not stand out but instead blends in well. I like the foot pedal on/off switch, but it does throw people off guard at first. This lamp throws a soft light and is easy to clean.I was skeptical but I needn’t have been. Very nice lamp(including 2 shades!) that is sturdy and looks nice. I needed a lamp for the g’kids’ activity table and this is perfect. Took me less than 20 minutes to assemble and most of that time was figuring out the bulb fitting - and the shades. The “remote control” is a foot pedal button on the cord. It works very well as the kids don’t have to fumble for a switch. Not tall enough to light a room but perfect for an area.When putting together the lamp, I turned the pole just a hair too much in the middle and stripped the screw mechanism. So now I have tape in the middle and the pole is still crooked. The lamp itself works well.Love that the lamp can move around to help light all areasI love how chic it makes my living room look. Very sturdyCan't use it when it's warm in my home. I'm glad I got it thoughFit and finish are great. Assembly was easy, but extra care had to be taken to not cross-thread the sections. A small bit of chamfering of the male threads could make assembly even easier.The instructions were a bit vague with regard to the shade assembly, but it went together and looks great.I use a Hue smart bulb with it, so I can't speak to the supplied bulb's brightness.The style is neither modern or traditional, but very neutral, IMO.I'm not a fan of foot switch controls, because it limits placement options, unless like I did, used a smart bulb with a separate control.Actually considering buying another one for use elsewhere in the house.I like it
