This really is a well made battery operated lamp which accents light beautifully. My only complaint is that the initial brightness provided by three AAA batteries only lasts a few days, then the brightness gradually fades over a two week period. I use it to add light to a darkened hallway in the evening hours before bedtime. It does the trick, I just wish the brightness lasted longer. The manufacturer probably should have built it to accommodate two AA batteries. I have other battery operated lights that use AAAs and the brightness lasts longer in them than in this light. The bulb is large so maybe that is the reason the brightness cannot be sustained, I would recommend it, but just be aware that you will have to change the batteries every 2-3 weeks.
