I've been looking into stress relievers or at least something to help with anxiety and stress for a while. Even if it's just a nice light, or some soft music. Anything but high amounts of pills! So, with much skepticism, I started researching the Himalayan salt lamps and found that while their air purification qualities are low (it doesn't emit enough negative ions to cancel out the "bad" ones), the light emitted can be rather relaxing when the actual salt block is a good piece (meaning it has lots of pink hue variations and not too many dark spots). So, I decided to give it a go. Why not, right? This lamp is reasonably priced for the quality and size that you get compared to the higher priced models.I order it and wait patiently for it to arrive, thinking of various places I might put it. Once I receive it and open the box, however, I find that the light bulb is smashed to bits. Whoever thought of putting an 11 lb salt block in with a lightly covered light bulb may not have thought that through. No worries, I thought, I'll try another light bulb that I have laying around in the light socket. Low and behold that doesn't even work!! I'm beyond frustrated at this point, as can be expected. So, I do what anyone in my position would do.... Stare hopelessly at the salt block thinking maybe my horse will like it as a yummy play thing. It's okay, I didn't give in to that thought. Instead I contacted the company who sold the lamp and told them my story. They sent a new light bulb and plug in the mail, which arrived in under a week.Yay! I finally was able to use the lamp, and let me tell you.....if you've ever felt the warm rays on your face as the sun sets below the horizon or the flames of a real wood burning fireplace dancing in the wind, you will have experienced the same kind of warmth and relaxation of this lamp. It helps me sleep at night when I use the dimmer switch on the lowest setting and even my husband has commented on its warmth and vibe.When all is said and done, I'm pretty happy that I bought this lamp, even if it is just a pretty night light.EDIT: The bulbs they provide get extremely hot, i switched out to nightlight bulbs... still work just as well. I have several different salt lamps I've acquired over the years from different places/people. This salt lamp is beyond gorgeous! It came wrapped extremely well with no damage. The 3 bulbs (2 extras) is a big plus. I would definitely recommend this seller for this specific item. The cross design is hard to find.I am pleasantly surprised with this product. Unlike a previous review(er), mine does have the dimmer. However, as with several other reviews, the bulb was DOA. I substituted a 40W chandelier-type bulb for the original (non-functioning) 25W nightlight bulb, and simply keep the light dimmed so as not to introduce too much heat.Admittedly, the method of seating the light fixture is less than ideal, on the whole, but it's not entirely "bad." Yes, there are two spring clips that hold the fixture in place, in the wooden base, but I have no problems in placing or seating my bulb inside the lamp or base.When on, the lamp emits a very warm and visually pleasant glow that illuminates the entire room (11' x 17').One word of warning: I opted to get the 5-7 kg (11-15 lb) lamp...and it's a *very* sizable chunk of salt. I would recommend the 3-5 kg (6-11 lb) lamp, or even the smallest size, unless you're adamant about having a huge chunk of salt on your table. And, thus far, I've had zero issues with any type of moisture or condensation, from\around the lamp, as reported by other reviewers.Just wish the whole thing glowed and it's shape was just a little more crossyOnly the bottom half lights up or glowsCan't say I love it but I like itI love it. ♥️I was lucky enough to recieve the pink salt stone and silly me I thought it .would glow pink. Oh no, it glows orange. Very disappointed.As a side note, one side of the stone looked dirty. I tried to remove it but discovered it was natual veining. Kind of a bummer.I don’t like how the bulb is not secured when you place it in. There’s no way of making sure the bulb doesn’t hit the sides.It was a gift, she loved it. Mine was almost a foot tall and heavy. It doesn't look that pinkish until the light is turned on inside it. The reason for four stars is because the bulb was broken inside the box leaving glass all around. All they needed to do was tape the bulb inside the opening of the salt to protect the bulb. So count on ordering a chandelier bulb, the one that was in mine was 25 watt but the fixture says it takes up to 75 watt and it can dim the bulb, also my led bulb was too wide to fit. Idk if led would be good for these, isn't or too bright(hot) of bulb either because they are air fresheners. Person I gave it to this Christmas has one already but also has throat cancer and said she could tell the difference with the first smaller one.ExcellentFun it’s really relaxing
